Unlimited SMS Troubleshooting

Sometimes one or maybe more SMS may not send, here are a few things to check before reaching out to us for support.

High failure rate

If you're experiencing a high failure rate when sending messages, it may be due to the speed of your message sending make sure to use drip mode if you are sending mass SMS.

Be aware that sending too many messages too quickly can lead to your SIM being banned or subjected to rate limits by operators. Increasing the delay between sending messages may help avoid these issues. You should send no more than 1 SMS per minute.

The phone must have 4g/5g/Wifi

If the phone that contains your SIM card is not in range or connected to the internet with data, when you send and SMS from the app, it will not come through to the recipient. The system will retry for a period of time but will eventually fail if the phone does not come back on line to process the SMS.

The phone must not be in Airplane mode

Putting the phone in Airplane mode will mean it stops connecting to the internet. Do not disturb, or silencing the phone so you do not get alerted when an SMS comes in is ok, so long as the internet can be accessed while the phone is in silent.

Check if you can send an SMS directly from the phone

Make sure that you are able to send and receive SMS directly from the phone. If you cannot please check that the phone has credit or that there is not another issue with the sim card

Is the SMS Gateway phone on the App running

The SMS Gateway App must be running at all times on the phone in the background. If your messages are only running when the phone is awake the app has not been set to run in the background correctly.

To check SMS Gateway App is allowed to run in background: Long press on App > Info > Battery Settings > Make sure it's unrestricted.

Is RCS off on the phone?

Even if you did turn off RCS during installation please check again. Any update on your phone may have reset RCS to turn back on

Please restart your phone

Sometimes a simple restart of the phone and restarting the SMS Gateway App may be the simple step that is required to if your SMS have stopped working

Check the recipient phone number

Sometimes it's the small simple things - maybe give them a call to check the number, or send the same message to them directly from the phone. You might get an error message back from your telcom provider expaining where the problem is.

Android speed limitations

Android phones have an inbuilt limitation that may be triggered if you exceed more than 30 SMS in 30 minutes so our recommendation is not to exceed this.
