How to enable Registry Lock

Registry lock is one of the best security precautions you can implement to protect your domain name and business. It is one step to preventing Domain-name hijacking - this is when an outside agent gains control over another registered domain through various illegal means.

A registry lock works by locking in the data with additional levels of authentication between the registry and the registrar. This gives you the added safety that you have a strong defence against domain-name hijacking. 

To find out if your domain is locked, and to enable it follow these steps: 

1. Login to Client Area - my.sixfive.io

2. Click on Domains

3. For each domain - click on Toggle Dropdown

4. Click on Manage Domain

5. Click on Registrar Lock

6. Click on Enable Registrar Lock

7. Your changes are saved.

8. If you have multiple Domain names

You can do these all at once, by selecting each check box on one side.

 

Note this is not available on .au / .com.au .org.au etc domains, so don't check these.

9. Click on the 'With Selected' box at the bottom

10. Click on 'Registrar Lock Status'

11. Review the domains and click on 'Enable Registrar Lock'

For illustration,we selecterd the .au domains.

12. If there were errors, no domains will be affected

Here it is telling us that locks are not available for .au domains. Note that no domains were changed.

13. If you only select .com and other domains that support locks you will get a success screen
